Emergence was commissioned for Dundas Night Lights, Part of the ArtworxTO Year of Public Art.
This group exhibition combined the artwork of 8 local artists into an interactive video installation that ran for 10 days along Dundas Street West, between Ossington and Lansdowne, accompanied by a gallery exhibit at Underscore Projects.
Using digital devices, the public could remix the various segments of the rose window pattern to create their own design.
My contribution, Emergence, is a message of hope created during the second year of the pandemic; a reminder that given time, life will find a way to burst forth. The source material for the piece comes from Mandala, a generative artwork.
